GPI is seeking a Transportation Engineer for our Columbia, MD office to enhance our transportation design capabilities in the region. Responsibilities
- Deliver projects for clients like the Maryland State Highway Administration and Delaware Department of Transportation.
- Build strong client relationships through collaboration with multi-discipline teams.
- Prepare engineering designs that meet project requirements.
- Complete tasks within set schedules and budgets.
- Develop project design criteria, calculations, details, and estimates.
- Mentor staff in transportation design advancement.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Transportation Engineering preferred.
- Experience with MDOT and/or DelDOT projects preferred.
- PE licensure required.
- Proficiency in roadway design and modeling software.
- Familiarity with MicroStation and InRoads/ORD.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English plans and directions.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Able to traverse uneven construction sites with elevation variations.
- Capable of using personal fall arrest systems and working at heights.
- Must wear GPI-required PPE while on site.
