Job Description:

BearCom, a leading provider of wireless communication solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated RF Field Solutions Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in site walk analysis of buildings using TEMs Pocket by InfoVista and inbuilding design using iBwave design software.

The RF Field Solutions Engineer is a highly skilled technician with extensive experience in designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting radio frequency (RF) equipment for wireless communication systems. They play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of wireless networks, often working in challenging environments and under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site walk analysis of buildings to assess RF coverage and performance using TEMs Pocket by InfoVista. Perform pre-design and post installation site surveys for all services BearCom provides. This may include but not limited to drive testing, iDAS, oDAS and LMR surveys.
  • Other areas may include collaboration with Field Service Teams, fiber optic testing, some Microwave and RAN responsibilities.
  • Design and implement inbuilding wireless communication systems using iBwave design software for DAS, D3M for LMR and Planet or similar for Propagation studies.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored RF solutions.
  • Perform RF surveys, data collection, and analysis to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve RF issues in the field.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of site analysis and design work.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in RF engineering, with a focus on site walk analysis and inbuilding design.
  • Proficiency in using TEMs Pocket by InfoVista, PCTEL Scanner, iBwave Scanner and iBwave design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other RF design and analysis tools, Planet, CAD, D3M, Keysight Nemo, Anritsu Site Master.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication standards and protocols, Land Mobile Radio (LMR), inbuilding DAS, CBRS/PLTE, 5G Commercial Cellular, Network Protocol and Microwave.
  • Certification in RF engineering or related fields.

Travel Requirements:

  • A Member of the National Engineering Team
  • Frequent travel to customer sites and field installations nationwide
  • Some international travel may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to operate test equipment while walking.
