Job Description:
Gymreapers is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Sales to build, scale, and lead our retail sales organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving growth within an omni-channel environment, particularly with large retail accounts. This leader will work closely with the executive team and product teams to develop and execute retail strategies that align with product calendars, retail resets, and market expansions. This position is a foundational role in our sales organization and requires a leader who can establish and optimize processes that drive revenue, profitability, and account loyalty.
Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive retail sales strategy aligned with Gymreapers' growth objectives and focused on major retail accounts and new market opportunities.
- Drive sales and revenue growth through new customer acquisition, maximizing retail partnerships, and optimizing our omni-channel approach.
- Partner with product and marketing teams to synchronize product launches and promotional calendars with key retail resets and industry trends.
Sales Organization Building
- Build, structure, and lead a high-performing retail sales team, from sales representatives to account managers, ensuring alignment with Gymreapers' goals.
- Define and refine the organizational structure to support scalable growth in both domestic and international markets.
- Establish performance standards, KPIs, and metrics to drive accountability, innovation, and results across the team.
Account Management & Growth
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners and target new accounts to drive Gymreapers’ market presence.
- Conduct regular business reviews with retail partners to identify growth opportunities and address challenges.
- Leverage insights and feedback from retail accounts to guide product development, inventory planning, and promotional strategy.
Product & Calendar Alignment
- Collaborate closely with product development and merchandising teams to align on retail resets, expansions, and launches.
- Develop an integrated product and sales calendar to ensure all teams are prepared for upcoming resets, promotions, and new product releases.
- Adapt strategies in real-time based on seasonal shifts, retail trends, and competitive positioning.
Financial Management & P&L Ownership
- Own and manage the retail sales P&L, focusing on driving profitable growth and managing expenses within budgetary guidelines.
- Forecast and track sales performance, preparing reports and insights to inform executive leadership on retail performance.
- Identify areas for improved financial efficiency, from inventory management to optimizing margins across retail channels.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing sales team by setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, and promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Invest in team training and development to ensure the sales organization stays ahead of industry trends and best practices.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with marketing, operations, and customer support to ensure a seamless customer experience across all channels.
Qualifications:
- 6-10+ years of experience in retail sales, with demonstrated expertise in omni-channel and wholesale growth, preferably within the apparel or fitness industry.
- 4-7+ years in a senior leadership role with a focus on building sales teams, developing retail partnerships, and owning the P&L.
- Proven experience working with major retail accounts and driving successful channel expansions and resets.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with product teams to build and execute strategic product and sales calendars aligned with retail timelines.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets, forecasting, and delivering on revenue and profit targets.
- Excellent leadership and team development skills, with a track record of fostering a high-performance, accountable culture.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
