Position Description

The Marketing & Media Specialist will be a creative, organized, and motivated individual with a passion for clear, purposeful communication. You will work closely with the President – Retirement Plans and President – Wealth Management, providing support and ensuring the timely delivery of requested materials to our retirement plan and wealth management teams. You will strive to carefully hone the Shepherd Financial brand experience for both prospects and clients. The ability to learn independently, create positive and authentic relationships, and act as a community leader is essential to your success in this role.

Role Objectives

The Marketing & Media Specialist will obtain a thorough understanding of our resources, standards, and differentiators to develop strategies aimed at increasing effective communications and brand awareness. You will document process procedures and flow, recommending any changes to make them more efficient. You will assist with all internal and external marketing campaigns, producing creative content for marketing projects and initiatives to enhance client service and lead generation.

  • Compile original and curated content to prepare customized materials for clients and prospects.
  • Marketing pieces
  • Participant resource guides
  • Financial wellness webinars and scripts
  • Presentations and collateral materials
  • Engagement analyses
  • Enrollment video scripts
  • Special e-newsletters and industry updates
  • Further Shepherd Financial brand credibility with industry designations and awards.
  • Complete relevant applications
  • Insert new designations and awards in current client and prospect materials
  • Maintain the Shepherd Financial website.
  • Upload monthly blog posts
  • Update team biographies and headshots
  • Update awards and designations
  • Attract and retain clients by increasing brand recognition via social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter).
  • Develop goals
  • Create a regular publishing schedule
  • Produce timely marketing campaigns for social media platform
  • Proactively research best practices
  • Analyze metrics.
  • Establish ROI and monitor for website
  • Establish ROI and monitor for social media platforms
  • Produce comprehensive reports
  • Assist the President – Retirement Plans and President – Wealth Management with projects as needed.

Requirements

Position Expectations

  • A bachelor’s degree and relevant industry experience
  • Experience with both traditional marketing and social media marketing
  • The ability to execute multiple complex projects concurrently, produce work quickly and efficiently, and maintain acute focus on detail and excellence
  • A desire to continuously learn and creatively apply new information
  • Fundamentally sound writing and editing skills
  • The flexibility to act as both a communicative team player and a dependable, autonomous worker
  • The ability to regularly analyze and offer productive feedback on materials and processes
  • A proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress (or similar hosting site) and Google Analytics
  • Compliance with Shepherd Financial’s internal policies
  • Begin each business day no later than 8:30 am

  • Salary plus incentive-based salary enhancement for new annualized recurring revenue from either retirement plans or wealth management referrals
