Position Overview
As the Supply Planning Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering on customer fulfillment targets by planning and executing replenishment activities across our network. Contributes to the development and leads the implementation of supply planning strategies to support the company’s growth and performance objectives. Primary responsibility is to optimize customer service levels through the balance of inventory across the supply chain network . Areas of responsibility include ERP (specifically SAP) planning and utilization, and product innovation coordination. Champions continuous improvement in our processes, our people, and our infrastructure.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
- Integrates our people, service, product, and brand objectives in the development of supply planning strategies to support the company’s growth and performance objectives.
- Manages the strategy and execution of the supply planning functions to optimize customer service performance as measured by overall fulfillment rates.
- Identifies and maintains standard operating procedures and processes to support consistency, scalability and structure surrounding replenishment of supply needs.
- Manages the supply planning functions to drive end-to-end supply chain efficiency as measured by inventory levels and overall operating cost. Develop and manage the corresponding supply planning department budget.
- Routinely collaborates with sales, marketing, & finance leaders to lead and maintain an effective S&OP process to include ongoing KPI reporting and review. Specifically, leads improvements in supply chain efficiencies, inventory optimization, and ultimately fulfillment performance.
- Works with demand planning, manufacturing, procurement and other key areas to identify, establish and maintain proper safety stock levels to ensure adequate levels of supply are on hand to support production and distribution needs. Analyzes inventory levels, execute appropriate actions needed, and communicate as warranted.
- Champions continuous improvement culture with prioritization aligned with business strategies: Establish and implement process improvements that reduce transactional cost, increase profitability, promote cross-functional alignment, incorporates standard work instructions, and eliminates waste at all touch points to include policy review and design.
- Drives root cause analysis on supply shortages and provides corrective actions. Proactively reviews at-risk items and communicates actions needed, along with recommended substitutions and timelines when applicable.
- Manages and prioritizes activities of the supply planning functions, and coordinate product innovation & life cycle management activities.
- Manages mitigation of potential inventory obsolescence to minimize write-offs for LTOs and other products in the various stages of the product life cycle.
- Manages vendor supply forecasting reviews and communication of inventory needs to Procurement.
- Provides input regarding suppliers on time in full performance and identifies potential risk; works with business units to resolve.
- Leads the review, analysis, and implementation of the ERP (specifically SAP) system enhancements to support the execution of the company’s supply planning strategies and customer needs.
- Manages data integrity for all supply planning parameters in SAP MRP and other bolt-on planning systems.
- Collaborates with Director of Supply Chain and other administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
- Provides strategic oversight in the creation/revision and implementation of best-known programs, policies and practices across all areas of responsibility.
- Cascade strategies by creating and reviewing analyses of activities, costs, and operations. Develop corresponding forecast data to determine department progress toward stated KPI goals, and coach accordingly.
- Responsible for building, developing, and retaining talent necessary to drive a high-performance team, along with ensuring succession planning is in place.
- Foster learning environment by supporting training and development of team.
- Provide appropriate recognition as team reaches continuous improvement goals and objectives.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred in operations, finance, logistics or supply chain management
- 2+ years of experience in sales & operations planning and previous experience and/or training in inventory or production planning
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impact
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Proficient knowledge of Production and Inventory Planning modules of SAP or similar ERP system is required
- CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Management) or similar forecasting certification Highly desired or demonstrated evidence of continuous learning in inventory management, procurement, supply chain and or demand planning
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret system specification documents
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical operations or formulations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend solutions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Strong analytical, organizational and presentation/facilitation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact professionally and diplomatically with all levels of internal and external customers and cross functional team members
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
