Gulfport Behavioral Health System, is a 90-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services.

Position Summary

Join the Intake Team where the Admission RN provides telephone and in person risk assessment and crisis intervention, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. Assists the Physician by providing face to face clinical assessments, including the history of presenting illness, family dynamics and supporting psychosocial information. This position is full time Monday-Friday 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice Nursing in the State of Mississippi.

Additional Requirements: A working knowledge of the DSM-IVR and the Mental Status Exam. A working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field. CPR certification and successful completion of CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training. Training may be obtained during new hire orientation.
