Overview of Roles & Responsibilities:
To assist the Shop Foreman in maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and efficient operation at the Shop. This includes providing assistance with the following duties that are described in more detail below: obtaining DOT Permits, registration renewals, overload permit renewals, IRP and IFTA renewals, inputting daily, weekly and monthly information into HCSS E360, exporting Weekly HCSS E360 Alert reports and provide assistance in generating material PO’s.

Overview of Roles & Responsibilities:
To assist the Shop Foreman in maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and efficient operation at the Shop. This includes providing assistance with the following duties that are described in more detail below: obtaining DOT Permits, registration renewals, overload permit renewals, IRP and IFTA renewals, inputting daily, weekly and monthly information into HCSS E360, exporting Weekly HCSS E360 Alert reports and provide assistance in generating material PO’s.
Description of Duties:
- Daily Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
- Check in with Shop Foreman daily to see what assistance is needed
- Aid with scheduling PM Services associated with all Over-The-Road vehicles
- Aid in generating Material Purchase Orders as needed based on the information provided by Shop Foreman and Parts Manager
- Assist in managing parts and inventory
- Help coordinate lowboy equipment moves for drivers being dispatched out of the Hampton Shop on a daily basis
- Shop Clerk is responsible for contacting the Branscome Rockville Shop Foreman daily to obtain list of scheduled moves and then distributing the moves to the lowboy drivers
- Setting up escorts as required for oversized loads being dispatched out of the Hampton Shop
- Shop Clerk to report back to the Rockville Shop Foreman daily as to which equipment moves were completed vs not completed.
- Monitor and keep Branscome’s EZ Pass accounts up to date. This includes ordering and canceling EZ passes, setting up new vehicles and removing vehicles from the accounts as needed
- Weekly Responsibilities:
- Download, export and email a copy of the HCSS E360 Alerts Report to both Shop Foreman, Shop Manager and Equipment Manager every Monday morning.
- Filter through the HCSS E360 Alerts report and complete all “Alerts” that fall under your responsibility.
- Contact both Shop Foreman every Monday morning at 9AM to verify all HCSS E360 Timecards have been entered, submitted and approved. Once all timecards have been approved, complete the “Export to Payroll” function for the prior week’s timecards and email both the text file and excel file to the Payroll Department.
- Complete manual input of meter readings and odometer reading in HCSS E360 for Dump Trucks and Ready-Mix Trucks and other misc equipment not tracked through HCSS HeavyJob
- Provide assistance in generating the Branscome Weekly Equipment Utilization Report
- Assist in ensuring DOT rules and guidelines are met for DOT trucks and highway equipment and notify the supervisor when these guidelines are not being adhered to.
- Aid in gathering fuel logs for the plants and pit and send them to the Manufacturing Controller on a weekly and monthly basis
- Monthly Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the shop in the absence of the Shop Foreman
- Responsible for acquiring local haul permits and vehicle escorts as needed for lowboys that are being dispatched out of the Hampton Shop. Upload registration renewals in Teams, update renew dates in HCSS E360. Distribute hard copies of renewed registrations w/stickers to the appropriate drivers
- Acquire registration renewals for all Over-The-Road vehicles owned and operated by Branscome. Upload registration renewals in Teams, update renewal dates in HCSS E360. Distribute hard copies of renewed registrations w/stickers to the appropriate drivers
- Acquire overload permit renewals for Over-The-Road vehicles owned and operated by Branscome (this is limited to Dump Trucks, Ready-Mix Trucks, Lowboys). Upload Overload Permit renewals in Teams, update renewal dates in HCSS E360. Distribute hard copies of renewed Overload Permits w/stickers to the appropriate drivers / department managers
- Provide assistance to the Equipment Manager in acquiring IRP Card registration renewals for Over-The-Road vehicles owned and operated by Branscome. Upload IRP registration renewals in Teams, update renewal dates in HCSS E360. Distribute hard copies of renewed IRP registrations w/stickers to the appropriate drivers / department managers
- Provide assistance to the Equipment Manager in acquiring IFTA registration renewals for Over-The-Road vehicles owned and operated by Branscome. Upload IFTA registration renewals in Teams, update renewal dates in HCSS E360. Distribute hard copies of renewed IFTA registrations w/stickers to the appropriate drivers / department managers
- At the end of each month send Manufacturing Controller remaining fuel volumes for all diesel fuel tanks located at the plants, pits and Hampton Yard
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction / automotive industry
- Effective communication and organization skills.
- Microsoft Suite experience, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing
