Act as a point person for press operations, capable of all duties outlined as a Press Operator , as well as having an elevated proficiency in all systems pertinent to the pasta making process including but not limited to debugging problems and issues, completing accurate and reliable inventories, appropriately adjusting pasta schedule, and identifying and resolving process trends before they impact line or plant performance.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Set up, operate, and control all equipment systems that are required to produce good pasta. This includes ingredient blending, flour tanker unloading, process water temperature control, cooling water controls, vacuum and boiler systems gauge and thermometer readings, dryer temperature and Humidity controls, and delivery of the pasta to the designated destination. Control of the equipment within parameters requiring a minimum hourly check of all major indices, including gauges, moisture content readings, drying controls and computer trend data systems, all with the aim of reacting to the data in a correct direction. Management of the WIP receiving system including selecting bin destinations and predicting bin availability, up to and including emptying pasta bins.

  • Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to train, maintain and promote a safe work environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions

Qualifications (Required)

  • 1 year relevant manufacturing experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to use computerized maintenance management system as well as other plant computer systems.
  • Food industry or manufacturing experience
  • Strong quantitative skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Mechanical logical understanding of processes
  • Ability to drive and operate a forklift and high lift (requires training and certification)
  • Ability to follow written policies, programs and SOP's.
  • Proficient in English verbal and written communication
  • Computer skills with Microsoft, Word, Excel and (SAP preferred)
