Job Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to join our leadership team. This pivotal role will initially report to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and will transition to a direct report to the CEO. The CHRO will play a crucial role in steering the strategic management of all HR functions, including but not limited to employee relations, employee experience, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, talent acquisition, and the development of learning initiatives. A primary focus of this role is to ensure full alignment of the HR team with the organization’s overarching objectives and strategies.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight for all HR functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor, delivering executive-level guidance on human resource matters.
- Foster a reliable and service-oriented HR department, exemplifying organizational values.
- Maintain open lines of communication between HR and staff, emphasizing a customer-first orientation.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to cultivate and maintain high-performing teams.
- Oversee talent acquisition processes, ensuring compliance and effectiveness in attracting top talent.
- Drive the development of employee learning and growth initiatives that align with corporate strategy.
- Facilitate positive employee relations and resolve matters with integrity.
- Support managers in performance management and coaching employees effectively.
- Champion the performance management process, aligning expectations with the organization's mission and values.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and proactively prepare for legislative changes.
- Manage employee relations and leave of absence administration to mitigate risk.
- Leverage HR Information Systems (HRIS) for efficient and data-driven HR operations.
- Develop and analyze HR metrics to enhance practices and improve key indicators.
- Create an impactful onboarding process for new hires to facilitate their integration into the organization.
- Maintain the Employee Handbook and ensure consistent policy application.
- Contribute to the design of employee benefit plans that serve the needs of the organization and its employees.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the HR team to achieve excellence and professional growth.
- Exceptional ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership capabilities with a strong ability to influence and inspire teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of training and development strategies.
- Proficient in facilitating training for diverse groups and energizing others.
- Strong multitasking skills with the capability to manage projects across departments.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling proficiencies.
- In-depth understanding of California and federal employment regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and HRIS platforms.
- High level of discretion with sensitive information.
- Creative, solution-focused, and receptive to feedback.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
- Some travel may be required.
- Culturally aware, demonstrating sensitivity and inclusivity in diverse environments.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive HR experience, encompassing key areas such as talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM CP/SCP certification is highly desirable.
