Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) has technology, engineering and program teams that educate and mentor colleagues to deliver leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. BAE is looking for a full stack developer/front end/cloud developer. The successful candidate will focus on developing applications using modern programming languages such as Node.js, Google Go, or Python. They should have experience with both relational and non-relational databases, and demonstrate a strong understanding of microservices architecture, including the development and deployment of services in containerized environments using Kubernetes. This role requires a keen understanding of how to scale applications in a cloud-native environment, leveraging cloud services for optimal performance and efficiency. The role encompasses support through all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Due to a specific US Government contract, US Citizenship is required for this position
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
The Full Stack Developer candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Ability to obtain US Secret Clearance
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in programming and software development across multiple layers of the software stack (UI, web services, microservices, databases).
- Proven experience in leading or advanced programming and software development, including analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and/or upgrading of software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and support enterprise applications while ensuring 24/7 availability.
- At least 6 years of experience in full-stack development, including proficiency in Node.js, Google Go, Python, or similar modern programming languages.
- Strong expertise in working with both relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, including the development, deployment, and scaling of services in containerized environments using Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, deploying, and scaling applications in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Experience in ensuring high availability and reliability of enterprise applications.
- Proficiency in using project management, documentation, and source control tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and services beyond Kubernetes, such as service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd), serverless frameworks, and cloud-specific resource management.
- Expertise in implementing security best practices in application development and deployment, particularly in environments with stringent compliance requirements.
- Knowledge in utilizing observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) for monitoring and troubleshooting applications.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and the ability to work in fast-paced, iterative development environments.
- Previous experience working within cross-functional development teams, demonstrating excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Full-Time Salary Range: $61820 - $105050
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
