This role is the Director ofF-35 Production within the F-35 Solutions Product Line of Electronic Combat Solutions. The Director Production is the lead for all production programs under the portfolio. Production focuses on transitioning new products to production, delivering products at rate, continuous improvement, and driving down cost of poor quality to ensure there are “no holes on jets.” This role includes having the various Program Managers (IPT Leads) executing the various IPTs as direct reports and the Director reports directly to the F-35 Solutions VP.



The Primary Responsibilities Of This Role Include


  • Partner with Operations and the F-35 leadership team to develop and deliver products and systems that meet our customer needs.
  • Monitor and drive production/project plans and execution to ensure production and work scope meets requirements, schedule, and budget.
  • Drive continuous improvement, affordability and COPQ initiatives that support production.
  • Identify and support the development of critical skills and employees; Lead a team of Production PMs to include recruiting, development and training to meet business needs.
  • Partner with and collaborate across all the functions to effectively staff and support Production.
  • Production focal point and lead for all activity within the portfolio including strategic planning, bid and proposal support, Business area strategy, integrated plans on programs, production staffing, issues management, and risk and opportunity management.
  • Partner and collaborate with functional, engineering managers, operations and sustainment to ensure program goals, requirements, and needs are understood and achieved.

  • Appropriately tailor and ensure compliance with operations processes/procedures framework and the ES Lifecycle Management Process
  • Collaborate with supply chain to drive timely delivery of material and resolution of issues to support production timelines.
  • Because this role involves manufacturing the F-35 EW system this role requires a combination of collaborative/in-person work with members of Operations. As such the job will take the form of a hybrid work format. However, time split between working onsite and remotely is a minimum of 3 days on site.



Required Education, Experience, & Skills


  • Active Secret Security clearance and ability to obtain Special Access clearances.
  • Bachelor’s degree and Minimum 12 years of technical leadership experience and mission/domain knowledge of emerging RF capabilities relevant to the business
  • Experience leading proposals.
  • Experience in transition-to-production, and full-rate production of complex electronic systems.
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies, Continuous Improvement, and Root Cause-Corrective Action
  • Program management skills including organizational, planning, estimating, problem management, supply chain, and production execution.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (soft skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, building teams, building customer relationships).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose, resolve complex problems and to develop improved methods to increase program efficiency.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong team building skills that enable collaboration and coordination within and across teams, functions, and other business units.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Current DOD Top Secret Clearance
  • Previous job experience operating within a Special Access Program environment.
  • Experience in Model Based Engineering and its application to Production.
  • Proven ability to lead large, complex programs with a bias towards transition to production; Proven expertise in transitioning programs from development to production and production to sustainment.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $194600 - $330800

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
