Example Of Essential Functions
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups:
__ Neonate (0 thru 30 days)
__ Infant (31 thru 12 months)
__ Child (13 months thru 12 years)
__ Adolescent (13 years thru 17 years)
__ Adult (18 years thru 65 years)
__ Geriatric (66+ years)
X Performance of job does not require patient contact
Physical Demands
Sedentary - Light Work - Lifting up to 15 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes). While work is mostly done sitting, a certain amount of walking or standing is often necessary.
Ergonomic Risk Factors
Repetition: Repeating the same motion over and over again places stress on the muscles and tendons. The severity of risk depends on how often the action is repeated, the speed of the movement, the required force and muscles involved.
Working Conditions: A. Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Risk: Category A – WILL have exposure to blood or body fluids.

The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.
Pay range: Hourly Rate $19.00-$27.77

Example Of Essential Functions
- Under supervision of the Core Lab supervisor and direction from Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist, receives and processes specimens for the diagnosis of cancer and other diseases.
- Performs clerical and receiving functions associated with the timely, accurate, reproducible reporting of results for laboratory specimens. Responsible for specimen accessioning and preparation including but not limited blood, urine, and body fluids.
- Also performs clerical functions, logging in specimens, filing specimens, loading reagents on all the instruments, sanitation of preparation areas, and related duties to assist the Technologist.
- Performs maintenance, diagnostic testing on clinical specimens with little direct supervision following SOP in order to provide preliminary assessment to the clinician about the presence and severity of infection.
- Performs appropriate quality control to insure that reported results are accurate and reproducible, and prepares quality assurance reports to assist Lab
- Ability to understand and follow specific clinical protocol, specifications, and procedures. Passing score on data entry test and medical terminology test required.
- High school education or the equivalent required. Associate degree in a health-related field is preferred.
- Previous laboratory experience with a minimum of three years in a related field required.
