As a Store Manager, you will be instrumental in driving the store's success by ensuring optimal operational performance, while striving to maximize both sales and profitability in alignment with established organizational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate an inviting and enthusiastic environment for customers, delivering exceptional service.
- Successfully complete the Management Training Program.
- Recruit, train, and develop an Assistant Manager in collaboration with your supervisor.
- Assist in the hiring and training of additional store staff with support from the Assistant Manager.
- Seek guidance from your supervisor regarding personnel or operational matters, escalating issues as needed.
- Effectively manage inventory shrinkage, targeting maintenance within 2.5% of annual sales, with an understanding of the implications of excessive shrinkage.
- Achieve a Shrink Check Test score of 80 or above, committing to improvement when necessary.
- Uphold safety standards and nurture positive relationships with local law enforcement to enhance store security.
- Develop and oversee weekly schedules for all store staff, adhering to the designated payroll budget.
- Communicate company policies clearly and ensure compliance among team members.
- Manage payroll information accurately and maintain organized inventory records.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in all store and stockroom areas.
- Administer store operating hours as directed by senior management.
- Verify merchandise receipts in accordance with established policies, reporting any discrepancies.
- Supervise product pricing and maintain a well-organized merchandise display.
- Keep your supervisor informed about defective merchandise, sales trends, and vendor issues.
- Maintain accountability for the store cash fund and sales receipts, enforcing proper cash handling procedures.
- Complete all required reports, records, and inventories in a timely and accurate manner.
- Report any equipment or facility issues to your supervisor promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding store sales and company information.
- Obtain approval for any expenditures exceeding $50.00.
- Remain adaptable to work hours as assigned by your supervisor and undertake additional duties as required.
- Implement company initiatives accurately and promptly to benefit both associates and customers, including promotions and merchandising strategies.
- Provide effective leadership through professionalism, communication, and sound judgment to enhance team morale.
- High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree along with two years of related experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant store management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proven ability in planning, coaching, and analysis.
- Team-oriented approach with a focus on collaborative work.
