Van Andel Institute's Facilities Department is seeking to hire a full-time Groundskeeper. The Mission of the Facilities Department is to create and maintain a "Best in Class" facility that exceeds customer expectations. This is accomplished by providing a clean, comfortable, functional working environment where employees can achieve their professional goals and focus on the work at hand.
Responsibilities
As a Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for performing semi-skilled work in the maintenance, care, and modification of VAI grounds and landscapes. This will include, but is not limited to, the following functions:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The hourly rate for this position will be commensurate with relevant work experience and other qualifications. This position is also eligible for our highly generous compensation package.
SCHEDULE
This position is considered first shift and will be in the main VAI facility located at 333 Bostwick NE: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities
As a Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for performing semi-skilled work in the maintenance, care, and modification of VAI grounds and landscapes. This will include, but is not limited to, the following functions:
- Mowing lawns, trimming, edging
- Weeding, thinning and cleaning flower beds and other grounds
- Performs VAI Property general maintenance and repairs
- Remove trash and debris on all VAI properties
- Leads efforts for snow removal and salting of walkways and parking lots
- Safely operates light vehicles and use multiple types of power tools/equipment
- Assist skilled trades workers with performing specific or standard duties
- Other duties as assigned
- A High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of two years Groundskeeping experience at a commercial/industrial Properties
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
