Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary
The Coordinator of the HBCU Internship Program and Student Initiatives in Volunteer Services at Eskenazi Health is responsible for coordinating all aspects of Eskenazi Health's internship program for Indiana college students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This includes recruitment, placement, onboarding, programming, and monitoring the success of each internship. Additionally, the Coordinator will assist the Manager of Volunteer Services on other student initiatives at Eskenazi Health, including the placement of non-clinical interns and the VolunTEEN program.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Manager of Volunteer Services, the Coordinator of the HBCU Internship Program and Student Initiatives will:
- Actively recruit Eskenazi Health departments to host HBCU interns.
- Maintain a database of all former HBCU interns with their contact information and current educational and/or employment status.
- Update materials on the HBCU program on an annual basis.
- Partner with Public Affairs and Communications to publicize the program at HBCUs and within appropriate stakeholders in Indiana.
- Facilitate the application process for HBCU internship candidates and coordinate interviews.
- Participate in the selection process for HBCU interns and be the primary contact person for students and the departments in which they will intern.
- Plan weekly professional development opportunities and events for the program.
- Coordinate with Talent Acquisition the onboarding process for HBCU interns.
- Maintain payroll for HBCU interns and all aspects of program record keeping.
- Development assessment and evaluation protocols for interns and supervisors.
- Represent Eskenazi Health at community events, college career fairs, and other programs where students or volunteers are recruited.
- Help place non-clinical interns at Eskenazi Health who are not part of the HBCU internship program.
- Assist the Manager in all aspects of the VolunTEEN program and other Volunteer Services initiatives.
- Act in place of the Manager of Volunteer Services in the Manager's absence.
- Work with the Manager to develop and monitor the departmental budget.
- Maintain departmental/program goods intended for interns and volunteers.
Job Requirements
- Undergraduate degree, with preference given to a graduate from an HBCU
- Experience working with college students preferred
- Experience providing programming for college students preferred

- Demonstrated abilities in organization and leadership
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
