Assistant Operations Manager
VIP Hospitality, LLC
Date: 1 day ago
City: Queens, NY
Contract type: Full time
The successful person in this role will assist the Contract Operations Manager to execute and ensure service quality to meet or exceed contract specifications. This operation primarily involves wayfinding to airport guests and travelers, providing information, and queue/line management at Terminal 4. Managing is all about providing the necessary supports and structure for our supervisors and team to perform their roles safely, effectively, respectfully and kindly.
Because the airport is open daily throughout the year, whomever is selected should expect to be on-site a standard 5 day week which will likely include weekend days. It is a salaried, exempt position and may or may not require work over the holidays and excess of 40 hours per week.
We are looking for a manager who understands that coaching, training and ongoing development, and establishing clear expectations while providing necessary resources and support are critical to people-centric operations. We are not preparing or selling a product but a personality and a service in the best interests of our client.
The ability to use and read scheduling software, prepare reports using Microsoft Word and Excel, maintain and track inventory, perform regular service audits and checks, and lead a team in a fast-paced environment are all important skills to possess.
Minimum Qualifications Include
One to three years of prior management experience or a combination of education and experience with a minimum of one year of experience
A high school diploma or general equivalence degree
Effective verbal and written communication skills with cross-cultural competencies
An engaging approach with others whether individually or with small and large groups
Preferred Qualifications Include
Three to five years of management experience or a combination of education and experience
Bilingual or multilingual with respect to languages spoken by airport guests and the communities we serve
An eye for detail
Outcomes-oriented when tasked with projects and standards
