Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Associate - Chemistry at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):
Perform state-of-the-art GW-BSE calculations on quantum dot assemblies and related systems to understand the electronic structure.
Develop theories and methods to describe charge transfer dynamics in quantum dot assemblies to understand the energy conversion mechanisms.
Develop theories and methods to study complex heterogeneous interfaces, such as those formed between quantum dots and ligands.
Collaborations with other theoretical and experimental groups.
Qualifications:
(1) Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, materials science, or a closely related discipline;
(2) Sufficient working knowledge of density functional theory and/or many-body perturbation theory (such as GW-BSE);
(3) Expertise in large-scale first-principles calculations of condensed phase systems, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications;
(4) Prior working experience in high-performance computing systems;
(5) Prior working experience in collaboration with experimentalists.
