HELP DESK TECH SUPPORT
HAYNES FURNITURE COMPANY INCORPORATED
Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution. This is an on-site position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Respond to queries either in person or over the phone, train computer users.
- Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
- Respond to email messages for customers seeking help.
- Ask questions to determine nature of problem, walk customer through problem-solving process.
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
- Clean up computers, run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
- Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
- Install computer peripherals for users.
- Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
- Must be available to work each scheduled shift and report to work on time, provide after hours and on-call support as needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide quality service to internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding company values at all times.
- Diagnostic and analytical skills for software and general application knowledge.
- Strong computer literacy skills with an emphasis on software knowledge, installations and use. Microsoft applications, data base applications, internet and internet protocols
- Basic computer abilities with the understanding of terminology and functionality.
- Understand and adhere to Company Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Policy and Procedures manual
- Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management

Demonstrated networking skills, able to foster strong relationships internally and externally
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer. Must be able to perform physical activities, bending, standing, climbing or walking. Ability to move equipment up to 50 lbs. alone and up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Some travel may be required.
TOOLS OR EQUIPMENT USED ON THE JOB: Standard bench tech and power tools to work on computers, peripherals and related devices.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Related experience and training in computer troubleshooting and providing help desk support
- Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment
- Knowledge and experience of customer service practices
