The Department of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is innovative, collegial, and collaborative. We are dedicated to leveraging the social sciences to develop and implement innovations to transform health and healthcare equitably. MSS has grown to roughly 300 faculty and staff and we are hiring a temporary financial assistant to join a 3-person team providing financial services to the entire department.
We are located in downtown Chicago on Michigan Avenue, and the position is HYBRID– remote on Mon and Fri and in the office on Tue, Wed, Thu. This is full-time temporary with the possibility of going to permanent, pending satisfactory performance and 110Dean’s office approval.
Our ideal candidate is highly organized, has impeccable follow-through, is highly process-disciplined and proactive by nature, strives to provide superb customer service, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ambitious environment with a collaborative and mission-driven culture. We are seeking someone with an accounting background, strong proficiency in Excel, excellent skills in organization, time management, oral and written communication, as well as someone with a team player attitude, and a desire for continuous learning.
Qualifications Required:
A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
Strong writing skills;
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail;
Diligent and can work independently;
Experience working with confidential information;
Professionalism;
Flexibility, adaptability in a fast paced environment.
Software Required:
MS Office suite 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
