Role Purpose Statement

The Operations Logistics Manager at LSG Sky Chefs is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end logistics operations that support the timely and efficient delivery of food and services to the aviation industry. This role ensures the seamless coordination of transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution processes to meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. By leading a team and collaborating with cross-functional departments, the Operations Logistics Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamline workflows, and ensure that operational costs are managed effectively, all while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and LSG Sky Chefs’ operational standards. The role also involves strategic planning to meet evolving demands and enhance operational scalability, contributing to the overall success of LSG Sky Chefs in providing exceptional catering solutions to global airline partners.

Main Accountabilities

  • Logistics Coordination: Oversee the transportation, warehousing, inventory, and distribution of products, ensuring timely delivery of food and services to airlines.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement within logistics operations and implement solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain service quality.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of logistics coordinators and support staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of productivity and morale.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure accurate tracking and management of inventory, overseeing stock levels, replenishment cycles, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with internal departments (e.g., operations, procurement, customer service) and external stakeholders (e.g., transportation partners, suppliers) to ensure the seamless flow of goods and services.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all logistics operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., food safety, aviation standards) and company policies, prioritizing safety and quality standards at all times.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Monitor logistics performance metrics and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  • Budget & Cost Management: Assist in managing logistics budgets, tracking operational expenses, and identifying cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience within the foodservice, aviation, or hospitality industries is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Adaptability and resilience under pressure.
  • Proactive and solution-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset.
