  • Coordinate the design, development and execution of employee engagement programs that strengthen organizational culture and increase employee participation across all business units.
  • Oversee all logistics for programs and events including, but not limited to pre-planning, vendor procurement, and ultimate execution for events such as Lunch & Learns, the annual Employee Engagement Family Day, Take Our Children to Work Day, etc.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization to understand their engagement needs and tailor initiatives accordingly.
  • Coordinate all elements of the NJ Employees Charitable Campaign (NJECC) program within NJ TRANSIT, aligning with State in sustaining success of the program.
  • Oversee the Culture Council, which is a cross-functional group of employees dedicated to enhancing engagement by aligning with the overall organizational strategy, fostering effective communication, creating a safe space for feedback, gathering input for programming, boosting employee morale, ensuring inclusive participation, and identifying innovative ways to further engage and connect all NJ TRANSIT employees.
  • Assist with the New Hire Year One program, which is a year-long onboarding program designed to foster stronger connections and mutual empowerment among colleagues by guiding new hires through a journey of personal growth and collaboration that begins on day one and continues throughout their first year and beyond.
  • Handle contract negotiation with venues, vendors, and various third parties to ensure quality of employee event elements that they provide.
  • Maintain and promote employee discount program though coordination with State to express appreciation for the valuable service NJ TRANSIT employees provide.
  • Use data and employee feedback to continuously refine engagement strategies and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Leverage technology to find greater efficiency as it pertains to tracking event attendance.
  • Demonstrate a proactive "can-do" attitude, approaching challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, maintaining a positive outlook, and consistently seeking ways to overcome obstacles and achieve goals, regardless of the situation.

Education, Experience & Qualifications: Required
  • Strong research skills to identify event opportunities, source vendors, conduct market research and best practices, and generate interest throughout the organization.
  • Ability to grasp the "big picture" and successfully meet objectives in all stages of event planning, design execution, and post-production.
  • Active listening skills with a creative approach to continuously engage and inspire employees.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for staffing events and managing coordination efforts.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities across all levels and functions within the organization.
  • Ability to influence and lead effectively, regardless of position or title.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams etc.).
Preferred
  • Prior experience working with union and non-union employees.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Drivers license for operating fleet vehicle when necessary.
Working Environment
  • Office, storage room, various facilities within and outside system.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods during events, ensuring smooth coordination and support.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25+ lbs. as needed for event setup, logistics, and other physical tasks.
