Reports to: Director of Sales & Operations Status: Exempt / Full Time

Total Compensation Potential: 70k-80K, Annually

The General Manager oversees day-to-day operations of a Club. The GM will provide effective leadership and management to gym staff. You will ensure the club personnel are performing efficiently and meeting company production goals and company objectives. The GM is responsible for ensuring the success of their designated facility by increasing and retaining club memberships and guaranteeing superior customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Ensure Defined Fitness’ standards are being met and upheld with respect to the condition, cleanliness and professional appearance of the facilities, equipment and staff
  • Monitor the need for new equipment and other facility improvements
  • Manager provides superior customer service to internal and external members
  • Address and resolve all complaints, comments and suggestions received from gym members, employees, etc.
  • Identifies and analyzes problems, formulates alternative solutions, takes or recommends appropriate actions to ensure problems are resolved efficiently and effectively
  • Demonstrates the continuous effort to improve yourself by completing appropriate trainings, identifies methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence others in order to meet company goals
  • Coordinate payroll for all employees at Manager’s designated facility location and provide that information to payroll processing in a timely manner.
  • Manage the hiring, evaluation, discipline action and training of new and current team members
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work relationships and a fun work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, preferred
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license (with acceptable driving record) and own means of transportation (registered and insured)
  • Must have managerial experience in service, health, fitness or related industry
  • Must be able to provide excellent internal and external customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-pace work environment
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office and various other products such as CSI, QuickBooks, etc.
  • Must have a valid CPR/AED certification, including infant and child, within the first 45 days of employment and maintain valid certification throughout employment
  • Must adhere to all safety rules and guidelines
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to eight (8) hours at a time
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds
  • Must be able to perform the following tasks: walk, squat, bend, stoop, stand, listen, read and write
