In today's culinary world, perfection and execution is key. Parkwest Casino is searching for an exceptional and talented Line Cook with these character traits. The Line Cook will assist the Chef in kitchen operations. The right candidate will help us provide guests with the most outstanding food and dining experience.   • A successful line cook ensures all food is prepared and presented in accordance with appropriate recipes and presentation on a consistent basis.
  • As a line cook you should be able to provide consistent safe and sanitary food storage, preparation and cooking. Monitor and control maintenance/sanitation of the kitchen and equipment.
  • As a line cook you are expected to recognize and follow quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy products and grains, including proper storage of these items. Effective utilization of leftovers and control of waste.
  • The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to take direction.
  • Line cooks should be able to work with others as a team player in a small confined space.
  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
  • Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Open availability. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and criminal background check.
  • Active California Food Handlers Certificate/Card required for this position.


Physical And Mental Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and bend at neck for 3 or more hours a day.
  • Position will require repetitive use of hands for the following actions; simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling and reaching for entire shift.
  • Position may require exposure to excessive noise, exposure to dust, gas, flames, chemicals, exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness.
  • Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
