Responsibilities

Raba Kistner is seeking a detailed-oriented, dependable A/E Technician to join our Building Sciences team in Pharr, TX. The A/E Technician will be primarily responsible for supporting the Consulting Services initiatives of the Building Envelope and Forensics Services Groups of the Raba Kistner Building Sciences Department in the South Texas Region, and other Regions, through an integrated team approach. A/E Technician support responsibilities include but not limited to; drawing, digital modeling, and water testing. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Senior Architect, Senior Intern Architect, Project Managers, Engineers, Senior Consultants and Intern Architects and/or Professionals in the preparation of design and detail documents for the Architectural Building Envelope and Forensic Consulting Services project work.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical drawing and informational libraries.
  • Assist in preparation of BIM / REVIT / CADD drawings as required for Projects.
  • Perform site visits to survey existing conditions and gather information to support the evaluation and remedial design work of the Building Sciences Consultants.
  • Assist in quality assurance field testing and operation of monitoring / testing equipment related to Building Sciences.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Senior Architect and other Building Sciences Consultants.
  • Within a six-month period, achieve average utilization target goal of not less than 80 percent.
  • Notify Supervisor, Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Architect and Engineers of any potential situation that may lead to legal claims or litigation.
  • Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and Behavior Based Safety Programs and set a good safety example.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in BIM / CADD studies or 2-year Associate's Degree.
  • Minimum 1-year related experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet company’s auto insurability requirements.

Good oral and written communications skills and ability to work in teams at different levels within the organization. Basic skill level with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and intermediate experience with REVIT and AutoCAD. Able to drive company vehicle, manage and complete all assigned jobs, efficiently and on time.

Employee may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet.

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs. Work responsibilities may require out of town travel to Raba Kistner offices, client offices and project locations.
