Warehouse/Material Handler

Position Purpose
This position is Chesapeake, VA. The Material Handler is responsible for performing storeroom duties such as: receiving and issuing materials; conducting physical inventories; performing data entry functions; and assisting in the general maintenance of the warehouse.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Coordinating with Dominion Warehouse staff to pick up materials as needed to complete projects.
- Maintain material lists and inventory.
- Providing maps to all techs daily.
- Ensuring all techs have bulbs and photocells needed and inventory upon return from job.
- Basic spreadsheet and data entry.
- Check to see if lights/arms/wire need to be returned.
- Record the lights/arms/wire and which storeroom they belong to.
- Load all the lights/arms/wire and strap down when necessary.
- Travel up to 50% of time to various VA areas to ensure Dominion material is available for Street Light crews.
- Operating material handling equipment (forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Maintaining of warehouse, including stocking, cleaning, and general maintenance.
- Assisting around office areas as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 6 months experience in warehouse/material handling setting. (on the job training provided)
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work 40 hours per week, overtime as required, night shifts, work out of town if needed.
- Monday-Thursday, 10-hour day schedule, optional flexible work schedule.
- Position requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct Dominion Energy experience.
- Over 1 year experience in warehouse/material handling setting.
