Position Overview

GEL has a position open in Raleigh, North Carolina for a Regional Survey Manager to lead and help grow our Survey services. This position has very high growth potential and is ideally suited for an individual who aspires to a key leadership position with a growing, entrepreneurial company. The primary responsibilities include leading survey crews, scheduling manpower, and assisting in the production of deliverables. Field work and travel may be required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates and supports GEL’s core values
  • Cultivate existing and identify new markets and clients for growth within the North Carolina region.
  • Manage survey crews and provide quality control for all survey deliverables.
  • Apply appropriate principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to various types of land surveying projects.
  • Facilitate professional development of survey staff.
  • Perform and document field work and office CAD production for survey projects.
  • Prepare results of field work in written and/or electronic format.
  • Ability to scope, negotiate and manage survey projects.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Focus on quality and help ensure QA/QC procedures are followed.
  • Understanding of applicable Federal, State and local laws, regulations, ordinances and professional ethics.

Education Required:

  • Professional Land Surveyor in NC preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in Survey or Geomatics preferred.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Proven track record of successful business to business selling and marketing of surveying services.
  • Working experience with North Carolina Municipalities preferred.
  • Survey experience on North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and other transportation projects a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D/Microstation.
  • Experience in preparing ALTA plats and deliverables.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Physical strength and endurance to perform field work.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Possess high ethical standards and the Core Values of the GEL Group.
  • Follow applicable Federal, State and local laws, regulations, ordinances as they pertain to Surveying.
