More than 95% of the sales generated in Industry, Mobility & Infrastructure (IMI) are coming from our traditional market segment as Rail NiCd, Stationary NiCd and Telecom NiCd. This technology is transitioning from traditional NiCd to new Electrochemistry such as Li-ion and Sodium ion. For these technologies, some segments in IMI, such as freight locomotives, passenger locomotives, telecom, CAM (Construction, Agriculture and Mining) vehicles as well as other stationary applications need to be understood in more depth. Therefore, taking benefit of our large sales network, the Business Development Manager will oversee bridging Saft's product management with market trends and elaborate commercial strategy along with the sales team to foster our growth in our existing market segments through new applications and technologies.

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical sales of industrial products
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent networking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of market trends and industry best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Elaborate business plan to foster growth in accessible market segments through new technologies and applications
  • Define actions and KPIs along with Area Directors to implement locally
  • Monthly KPI monitoring
  • Align with KA teams and sales network regarding customer expectations and customer needs
  • Bridge with product management to develop a road-map focused on market trends and customer expectations
  • Be the voice of the customer for product management and engineering on new technologies
  • Support the sales team to become new technology experts for the customer
  • Support product management to elaborate the Li-ion road-map
  • Promote and lead the achievement of the sales budget for Li-ion products
  • Achieve North America booking, sales, and margin budget of Li-ion products
  • Provide support by reviewing all CRM opportunities with Li-ion
  • Review any opportunities with the sales engineers
  • Provide input to the Global BD Manager for various reviews with the IMI executives
  • Participate in the construction of Li-ion products for strategic projects with the bids and commercial teams
