Position Overview:

As a Patient Services Representative (PSR) at OrthoArkansas, you'll be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in ensuring their experience is welcoming, efficient, and positive. Your responsibilities include greeting patients, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling insurance information, processing referrals, and collecting copays. You’ll also assist with scheduling and work closely with clinical staff to ensure a smooth and seamless patient flow throughout the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Interaction:

  • Greet every patient with a warm and friendly smile, making them feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
  • Manage patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring all necessary procedures are followed accurately.
  • Collect copays and handle payments with precision and care.

2. Administrative Duties:

  • Verify that referrals are on file when required, ensuring compliance with clinic procedures.
  • Build and manage insurance packages with accuracy, ensuring all patient information is up to date.
  • Collect, organize, and process charge tickets for each clinic, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Balance TOS money at the end of each day and submit it according to clinic protocols.

3. Record Management:

  • Provide patients with the necessary paperwork and assist them with completion as needed.
  • Add or update patient demographic information in the system to maintain accurate records.
  • Make Health Note calls for the next day and assist patients with completing the Health Note questionnaire.

4. Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Assist Clinic Assistants with scheduling return visits and rescheduling clinics as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient status, including late arrivals and any issues that may delay appointments.

5. Patient Financial Assistance:

  • Contact Financial Counselors for patients who are unable to pay their balances, providing them with necessary support.
  • Offer information and guidance to patients regarding financial options and assistance.

6. General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective communication with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive patient experience.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned to support the clinic's overall functioning.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Equivalent to a high school diploma or GED, with an emphasis on office skills or related areas. 0 to 6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Mental alertness and adaptability to office routines and medical office environments. Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Software Skills: Basic proficiency in 10-Key, word processing, and typing.
