Job Purpose
To provide advanced dental assistance to dentists, lead and mentor junior dental assistants, and exemplify Familia Dental's culture, mission, and values. This position requires extensive experience and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of Dental Assistant 1 and 2 with advanced proficiency
- Lead and mentor junior dental assistants, providing guidance and training
- Assist in complex dental procedures and oral surgeries
- Manage inventory and equipment maintenance for the dental office
- Perform advanced dental assisting duties as allowed by state regulations, including:
- Placing and finishing composite restorations
- Performing coronal polishing
- Taking final impressions for crown and bridge
- Assist in maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with industry advancements

- Expert-level knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Advanced proficiency in dental software and technology
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Superior communication skills with patients and team members
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- In-depth understanding of dental insurance and billing procedures
- Proficiency in infection control and sterilization techniques
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and procedures quickly

- Expertise in expanded function dental assisting procedures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds

Availability / Schedule
Office Hours: M-F, 8:45 AM - 6:30 PM and Sat, 8:45 AM - 4:30 PM
- Full time employment:
- 4+ days a week, 30-40 hours per week
- Available to work Saturdays, when needed
- Full Shifts (8-10 hours)
- Part time employment:
- 2+ days a week, 29 hours or less per week
- Available to work Saturdays, when needed
- Multiple half day shifts or fewer full day shifts
