Construction & Maintenance Technician IV

Job Summary:

Plans, directs, schedules, performs, and checks all work in connection with construction and maintenance of gas distribution system. Performs company field operations including manual labor and other duties necessary to accomplish the installation, repair, construction and maintenance of natural gas distribution systems.

Essential Functions:

• Leads and directs all gas distribution work for a construction crew.
• Installs, repairs or replaces steel/plastic pipe.
• Ensures location of gas lines and other utility lines are located prior to excavation.
• Ensures the crew members’ plastic and steel welding meets standards.
• Transports required equipment, tools, and supplies to work site.
• Ensures each crew member knows safety policies and practices, monitors for compliance, and provides coaching in the field.
• Completes paperwork and other duties as needed.

Education Requirements:

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Possesses commercial driver’s license (CDL).
• Possesses company welding certifications.

Experience Requirements:

• Requires seven (7) years of relevant experience in construction, installation and maintenance of gas distribution systems.
• Must have one (1) year experience welding steel pipe.
• Must reside within 20 minutes from the service center.
