Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Guest Services Supervisor, Visitor Services Specialist Lead, and Visitor Services Specialist, the Zoo Worker in Admissions and Experiences is responsible for engaging with guests by greeting, assisting with ticket sales, and ensuring a positive experience. Providing an exceptional guest experience is our top priority. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong computer and communication skills. Most shifts are spent standing and working outdoors in admissions, parking, and various guest experiences throughout the Zoo.
Job Responsibilities
- Customer Service - The Visitor Services Department is committed to delivering an outstanding guest experience and promoting animal conservation by adhering to standard procedures and delivering narratives with kindness and consistency.
- Cash Handling - Responsible for accurately handling ticket sales and processing transactions using a Point-of-Sale system.
- Operation – Perform opening, operating, and closing tasks, including cleaning assigned areas and picking up debris to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for guests. Familiarity with Admissions and Experiences procedures is required, including cleaning, debris removal, equipment inspections, and operation of exhibits.
Minimum Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age upon applying
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous work experience handling money preferred
- Previous work experience in customer service preferred
