Position Status: 40 or more hrs/week
Basic Job Description: Safely and efficiently load, transport and unload various masonry materials around equipment yard and job sites, which is often rough terrain.
Duties:
- Safely operate rough terrain type forklift depending on the requirements of the jobsite.
- Operate the equipment per its operating manual and within its limitations.
- Adhere to company safety policies.
- Heavy lifting, endurance, hand eye coordination and the ability concentrate on their tasks.
- Monitor gauges and record information as needed
- Know the type of product, the source, and all the handling procedures involved in each processing procedure.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the jobsite.
- Maintain general housekeeping of production areas.
- Ensure all paperwork is done correctly and completely.
- Operate pallet jack and forklift.
- Perform elementary mechanical and carpentry repairs throughout jobsite as instructed by supervision.
- Demonstrate good judgement in safeguarding customer, company, vendor and employee information.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments and peers.
Qualifications:
- Must have Rough Terrain Forklift Operator Experience – Current Qualification Card preferred
- Must be able to climb onto and off the forklift numerous times during the shift, visually monitor the modules for needed repair.
- Must be able operate forklift on rough terrain safely outside in noisy, wet surfaces, mechanical hazards, moving objects.
- Preferred proof of completing a forklift operating class (operator’s card) and demonstration of skills are required.
- Excellent communicator with co-workers and ensuring each other’s safety.
Additional Information:
Adequate transportation is required to get to job sites and equipment yard. Workers must complete a drug test, e-verify, and a possible background check.
