The Clinician develops, conducts, and oversees the delivery of mental health or behavior analytic services, according to the clinician’s appropriate scope of practice as defined by the Utah Department of Professional Licensing (DOPL) and best practice standards for the behavioral health field. This may include but is not limited to, conducting assessments, determining goals, developing treatment plans, supervising behavior technicians, conducting parent training and whole-family intervention, responding to crises, providing case management services, collaborating with external providers such as schools, and coordinating with team members and leadership for ethical, quality service delivery. Treatment is provided in accordance with all applicable federal and Utah state regulations, UTBS policies and procedures, and according to UTBS curricula, programs, methods, and systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain clinical qualifications, certifications, and licenses, as well as adhere to the other requirements in the Google Drive for the clinical position.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English to team members, parents/caregivers,
  • Complete all required documentation in a thorough, professional, and timely manner, according to UTBS policies and procedures guidelines.
  • Display honesty and integrity in all elements of job performance and interactions with teammates,
  • Abide by all Utah and federal rules and regulations guiding ABA and Mental Health services, including, but not limited to:
  • Best Practice standards and ethical guidelines of the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB), National Association for Social Workers (NASW), or other applicable licensing board(s);
  • Guidelines and standards set by the Utah Department of Professional Licensing (DOPL);
  • HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act);
  • Utah Department of Health and Human Services Code of Conduct;
  • Ethical Principles and Codes of Conduct of the American; Psychological Association (Chapters 3. Human Relations, 4. Privacy and Confidentiality, and 10. Therapy);
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse laws, including 45 CFR 152.27.
  • The Clinician's Google Drive will have specific job maps, job duties, procedures, and ongoing job expectations. The Director’s Google Drive will describe the obligations of those in leadership positions. The Google Drives contain detailed job descriptions and manuals for all job duties; therefore, they are not all listed in this job description.


BCBA Requirements:

  • Active license and ability to practice in Utah, which includes:
  • BCBAs
  • BCaBAs
  • Candidates that are within six months of obtaining their independent licensure are also encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality about the clients, families, staff, and any other protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA. (Pretty standard, across the board requirement).
  • Ability to pass a Background Check.
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation to be able to transport clients on occasion to outings or events.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 21 hours a week with three evening sessions per week (4-7 pm) unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
  • Clinicians must make themselves available to complete mandatory, ongoing, required trainings scheduled throughout the year, including evenings and weekends. Case management meetings may be conducted in the late evenings or early mornings (after 8:00 pm or before 9 am) via Google Meet and attendance is required for all affected team members.
  • Ability to work professionally, in cooperation with team members, family members, schools and other providers to coordinate and plan services.
  • Must comply with employment agreement, policies and procedures, and all regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Speak, write, read and/or communicate fluently in the English language. Ability to type (or verbally dictate and edit) to write daily session documentation in accordance with quality standards and policies and procedures.
  • Must be computer literate and able to read and respond to multiple company emails and internal messaging per day. Must have access to wi-fi or internet connection outside of work hours.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to children, families, Technicians, staff, and any other protected health information (PHI).
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license, active automobile insurance, and reliable transportation to and from client homes and UTBS offices and occasional community outings.
  • Physical Requirements: Due to the active and physical nature of this position, there are vision and physical requirements that must be met in order to effectively function in this position. The children that we provide services may exhibit physically aggressive behavior, which can include throwing objects, kicking, pinching, punching, biting, etc. Some may also have a tendency to run away (elopement). The Behavior Technician may be required to respond to such behavior by implementing a Behavior Intervention Plan that may include things such as response blocking, redirecting, extinction, and restraint. Such a response may require a level of agility, quick reflex, and the ability to physically protect themselves and the child from harm and to retrieve the child in the case of elopement. Accordingly, a Behavior Technician must meet the following additional requirements:
  • Strength and mobility requirements include being able to perform a variety of physical movements, including lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.), kneeling, sitting, bending, running, and squatting.
  • Vision requirements including close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distant vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); good peripheral vision ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or the left or right while eyes are fixed on a given point sufficient to provide safety to employee, staff, and clients); and depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships).

Hourly Pay rate: $34.00 - $45.25 per hour

Salary Pay rate: $70,000 - $94,120 per year

Sign-on bonus: $5,000 paid out according to policy

Schedule:

  • Flexible schedule Monday through Friday from 9 am to 7 pm (minimum of 21 billable hours)
