The position will require sitting for long periods of time at a microscope and computer.
Shift
Monday through Friday, working everyday with flexible daily start and stop times, with the expectation of working 40 hrs/wk.
Job Summary
Scientist I position in a dynamic lab that uses state of the art techniques to assess mitochondrial function and bioenergetics in the setting of disease states, including traumatic brain injury, aging, and spinal cord injury. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and managing complex research involving immunohistochemistry, proteomics, metabolomics, transcriptomics, and assay development. This role includes managing the department’s slide scanning microscope, ensuring high-quality imaging and analysis for various research projects. A substantial portion of this position involves project management, including data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of research findings.
Additionally, the scientist will oversee a team of at least 15 student trainees and non-regular employees, facilitating their contributions to ongoing research and providing mentorship and support. Strong organizational and leadership skills are essential to coordinate the diverse activities within the lab, support the professional development of the lab’s members, and drive innovation in assay development for research advancements.
