Boys Assistant Soccer Coach
Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools
Directly responsible to the head coach of a sport. The assistant coach will be expected to exhibit total loyalty to the program, the head coach, and the other assistants at all times. The assistant coach will be required to carry out all assignments given to him by the head coach.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist the head coach as directed with the following:
- Organize and direct coaching staff
- Collecting physical examination forms
- Collecting insurance release forms
- Reporting injuries to school nurse
- Taking inventory and submitting a list of equipment needs
- Checking out and collecting all equipment
- Keeping accurate records and reports of lost or stolen equipment
- Providing a roster of players
Providing the Athletic Director a list of athletes who are to receive awards at the end of the season and plan the awards ceremony
- Insuring proper team conduct on trips and during contests
- Knowing all rules pertaining to his or her sport
- Treating of injuries or attending to athletes
- Cleaning and Maintenance of equipment and uniforms
- Organizing practice sessions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified teacher or must qualify for Rule 10 approval through the Kansas State High
- School Activities Association
COMMUNICATION / ORGANIZATION:
Maintains communication with school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students. Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties. Performs other related work as required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, general curriculum and learning theories, correspondence, and protocols. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parents, students, and the general public.

While performing the duties of the job the employee occasionally may visit a child’s home. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community; ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.

Based on the Kansas City Kansas Supplemental Salary Schedule
