This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer to utilize their skills, experience and ingenuity to work with our highly experienced wood products sales, marketing and product engineering professionals to bring new products and solutions to life.We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development team to design and build prototype manufacturing lines for our new products.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $94,977-$171,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10%-20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

For those eligible, we offer a pre-tax Health Savings Account option which includes a company contribution based on your participation. Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.

Key Functions
- Design and Development: Lead the design and development of prototype manufacturing lines for new products, ensuring they meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Research: Conduct thorough research on new manufacturing technologies, materials, and processes to enhance prototype development.
- Prototyping: Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and models for prototype manufacturing lines.
- Testing and Validation: Develop and execute testing protocols to validate the performance and reliability of prototype manufacturing lines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality assurance, and production, to ensure seamless integration of new manufacturing lines.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful completion of R&D projects and prototype manufacturing lines.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

- Safety: Passion for safety, and ability design with risk elimination and reduction in mind.
- Education: Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on R&D and prototype development.Wood products experience is an asset.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), finite element analysis (FEA), and other engineering tools.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and mechanical systems, robotics and controls.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative approach to engineering challenges.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
