Brief Description
The Operations and Maintenance Technician - Instrument and Controls will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment in the facility. This role will perform work requiring a high level of skill in the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of all electronic and electrical power plant equipment and systems. Individuals who have demonstrated experience in the multi-skills that are needed at power plants are preferred.

Individuals who have demonstrated experience in the multi-skills that are needed at power plants are preferred.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintenance of a combined cycle power plant to include troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, tuning, and replacing sophisticated I&C equipment and components.
- Troubleshoot and correcting electrical maintenance problems, including switch gear, motors, breakers and plant wiring.
- Conduct troubleshooting and analysis on DCS, PLC and turbine control equipment
- Maintain all plant instrumentation and electrical test equipment
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive calibration program for all applicable equipment
- Assist in maintaining and controlling spare parts inventory to maintain plant reliability. Assist in physical inventories.
- Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance records
- Assist in operation of plant equipment and systems as directed
- Fully support and participate in Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programs
- Promotes and works with others in a team environment.
- Maintain the plant Distributed Control System and related equipment.
- Complete required operations/maintenance training and qualification programs.
- Must make expeditious appropriate decision to non-routine plant operating situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3 - 5 + years related experience required working in a power plant environment or relevant military experience.
- Should be familiar with the usage of high-tech electronic test equipment and other precision test instruments to be used in identifying problems.
- Completion of extensive technical training in I&C work is required.
- Specific experience with GE 7FA combustion turbines preferred.
- Understanding of MARK VIe control systems preferred.
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
- Good decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
- Capability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Ability to handle constantly changing and emerging work priorities and schedules. Ability to work effectively with other team members.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with various personality types desired.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and other computer-based productivity tools.
- Demonstrates decision making abilities, long term developmental capabilities and networking skills.
- Physical requirements include lifting 40 to 75 pounds, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, etc. Work may be performed around rotating equipment and highly energized and/or pressurized systems
