GENERAL FUNCTION

The Before and After School Care Site Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight of assigned Afterschool sites and will focus on providing high quality programs that meet State of Michigan Care Licensing requirements and YMCA practices and guidelines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of experience in recreational education or childcare setting is required
  • Experience in early childhood, leadership, or recreation is required
  • Experience in administration, personnel management, budget development/control, supervision, curriculum and program planning is required

TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES

  • Education and credentials must meet State of Michigan School Age and Childcare Licensing requirements
  • Acquires documentation of a physical examination
  • Passes TB skin test within 30 days of hire
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Safe certifications

ABILITIES & SKILLS

  • Ability to participate in, plan, and lead all physical activities
  • Ability to sit and stand from a seated position on the floor when interacting with children
  • Capability to be outside for up to 30 minutes a day, year round

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises approximately 40-50 part-time Site Leads and Site Assistants assigned within your assigned neighborhood
  • Assists with the development and implementation of Afterschool & Enrichment programs and curriculum
  • Ensures the environment, equipment, and supplies are appropriate and safe for conducting our programs
  • Engages with the parents and family members of participating children and serves as a liaison to local schools and community groups through weekly communication with school staff and attendance at branch/site special events
  • Coordinates the training of all department staff and provides department reports at weekly staff meetings
  • Partners with Accounting department to ensure timely collection of tuition and fees for weekly receipts and statements
  • Oversees program budget and CACFP Food Program
  • Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor
