How you make a difference
As a Medical Records Clerk, you will work under the direction of the Medical Records Supervisor, Health Services Administrator, Program Manager or higher licensed medical professional. You will be responsible for the maintenance, organization, and transfer of medical records from one facility to another. Your role will involve ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all medical records, and maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

How you make a difference
As a Medical Records Clerk, you will work under the direction of the Medical Records Supervisor, Health Services Administrator, Program Manager or higher licensed medical professional. You will be responsible for the maintenance, organization, and transfer of medical records from one facility to another. Your role will involve ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all medical records, and maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and retrieve medical charts for patients and maintain their flow within the facility.
- Collect statistical data and maintain a sick call list for review by the Health Services Administrator.
- Track medical record requests, lab results, and x-ray results for easy access and reference.
- Schedule and prepare paperwork for 14-day and annual health assessments of patients.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patients' information and may assist in the job shadowing and training of new employees.
Education
- High school Graduate
- Previous correctional/detention facility experience
- One year of health-related experience in Medical Records Administration preferred
- Current lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
