The Team

This newly created team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the accounting information received from the Investment Operations securities system. This team will focus on the control environment supporting this purpose, working closely with its critical partners, Investment Operations and Securities Controllership. The team will leverage technology and resource opportunities to maintain these processes efficiently and effectively.

About the Corporate Controller Organization:

The Controllers Organization is responsible for the credibility and control of core financial information, communicating with leadership, key business partners, and regulators on the enterprise’s actual results and strategic decision making. This work considers legal entity structures, distribution channels, and product results, impacting capital optimization and operating liquidity.

The Opportunity

This Investment Accountant role is crucial for our Investment Controllership team, reporting to the Director of Investment Operational Accounting Governance and Controllership. This position offers an opportunity to thrive in a dynamic accounting environment, collaborating across teams to improve outcomes.   • Participates in implementing the Company’s new ledger and key projects.
  • Creates or reviews, analyzes, and presents monthly financial analysis reports to senior management.
  • Conducts thorough research, analysis, and data retrieval for accurate account reconciliations.
  • Identifies and reconciles differences within investment and accounting systems using critical analysis skills.
  • Analyzes and interprets financial information for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintains complex account records with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to resolve items and address investment-related issues.
  • Initiates and leads complex continuous improvement activities.
  • Participates in problem solving to improve quality, cycle times, and customer satisfaction within the Investment Controllership team.
  • Recommends improvements to the overall control environment.

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related major
  • 6+ years of related work experience with increasing responsibility
  • 6+ years combined experience with U.S. GAAP and/or STAT

The Ideal Qualifications

  • CPA or CFA preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge and experience within investments
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data sets
  • Proven ability to produce high quality work efficiently
  • Able to build strong working relationships across cross-functional groups
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas persuasively
  • Able to lead a team in executing various priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Intellectual curiosity for ongoing learning and understanding
