Clinical Educational Programs Manager
Memorial Hospital at Gulfport
This position is responsible for the comprehensive development, implementation, evaluation, and management of nursing programs that enhance professional growth and education, clinical competency, organization development, and staff retention. Ensures a smooth transition for new nurses from academia to practice, while also incentivizing growth and performance through structured professional development programs. The position reports to the assigned clinical leader and works closely with nursing leadership, HR, and other key stakeholders.
Job Specifications:
- Program Development, Implementation and Management
- Develop, implement, and manage the nurse residency program, intern/extern program, and clinical incentive pathway initiatives, including creating curricula, training materials, criteria for participation, and evaluation frameworks.
- Maintain accountability for the program’s educational design, including assessment, development, design, implementation, and evaluation of the programs.
- Ensure that all programs meet regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
- Create and update educational content to help support nurse growth and retention.
- Achieve accreditation for the nurse residency program through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) once the program is eligible; maintain accreditation status on a go-forward basis.
- Evaluation and Quality Improvement
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, using feedback and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Compile and present regular and ad hoc reports on program outcomes to senior leadership. Track outcomes and regularly analyze data to identify needed adjustments.
- Ensure alignment of programs with organizational goals for patient outcomes, nursing retention, and staff engagement.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among program stakeholders.
- Work in close partnership with nursing leadership, HR, and other departments to integrate the programs with broader organizational objectives.
- Serve as a liaison between program participants and hospital administration, promoting the programs internally and externally.
- Program Oversight
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of nurse residency and intern/extern program participants.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for nurses regarding the residency program, policies, procedures, and inquiries.
- Act as a mentor for staff involved in the residency and clinical incentive pathway programs, along with their direct managers, to provide guidance and support in enhancing professional growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Memorial with the American Nurses Credentialing.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required and at least one degree (either the bachelor’s or master’s degree) must be in nursing. All college degrees must be awarded by an accredited university.
Licensure: Current, unrestricted Mississippi RN license or equivalent compact license.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting and at least two (2) years of experience supporting new graduate nurse residency programs or other relevant training and development programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensure: Certification in professional development or healthcare administration.
Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience with adult training or equivalent level of education in adult learning principles.
