Contract type: Full time

The Hematology Division of the Department of Oncology at Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a Director of the Adult Sickle Cell Program to oversee New York City’s largest and most comprehensive Sickle Cell Program. Montefiore Medical Center is a busy major academic institution serving a diverse urban and suburban population and is the primary teaching hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx, New York).

With approximately 1,300 adults with sickle cell anemia within its network, this program is one of the largest sickle-cell clinics in the nation. The Sickle Cell Program is well supported by an Assistant Sickle Cell Program Director, three (3) nurse practitioners, a clinical research associate, a dedicated social worker, and administrative staff. A dedicated infusion unit for sickle cell patients will be available by EOY 2024. Call is approximately 1 weekend in 8 weeks.

Our mission is to provide exceptional, comprehensive, compassionate, and individualized care for people living with sickle cell disease. Montefiore’s team of internationally recognized hematologists and multidisciplinary experts at the Sickle Cell Center for Adults offer a full range of medical and social services to meet the needs of sickle cell patients.

A full comprehensive benefit package is offered including LTD, STD, paid malpractice, 403(b), and a generous salary between $350k-$400k commensurate with experience and academic rank.
