Office Systems Specialist

This is lead and participatory work involving technical and complex administrative assignments with responsibility for the direction of operations in the absence of the supervisor. This position involves considerable interaction with City employees and citizens, on the telephone and in person, which requires the exercise of considerable patience, tact, and sound judgment. The work also requires excellent computer, customer service and interpersonal skills; the ability to meet deadlines and goals using multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment; and the ability to competently assemble complex, detailed information to consistently achieve a professional and error free results. Employees in this position are expected to be able to perform all work tasks and comply with any work schedules, attendance, or duty requirements which may be established by City or department rules, or applicable union contracts. Work is reviewed by an administrative supervisor through observation, conferences and results achieved.
Salary: $17.92 - $26.80 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Have considerable experience using word processing, database, and spreadsheet software (preferably Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Be able to compose clear, concise, error-free correspondence and documents.
- Be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately, both orally and in writing.
- Be able to detect transaction errors and maintain accurate records and confidentiality of material.
- Have good organizational and time management skills.
Desirable Qualifications Preferred applicants:
- Have good presentation and coaching skills.
- Have experience in customer service and software support.
