The Fleet Service Technician at ASG is responsible for supporting the Fleet and Asset Management team within the organization on a variety of duties.

Pay Scale: $68,000 - $78,000 / year

What you’ll do: (Including, but not limited to):

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance services to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Change filters, oils, and fluids, and check systems for wear and tear
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Provide detailed reports of repairs, maintenance, and issues found, offering clear explanations to supervisors and leadership
  • Advise on equipment condition, recommend improvements, and suggest proper preventive care
  • Coordinating repairs, servicing, and inspections to prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Maintain records of the fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Update the asset management systems to maintain accurate equipment history and prepare asset reports for management
  • Maintain asset documentation in accordance with legal regulations; this includes, but is not limited to asset registration, insurance, inspections, DOT, ANSI or other requirements as applicable
  • Maintain relationships with multiple vendors for tooling and equipment supply
  • Assist staff with issues and requests relevant to asset management and fleet operations
  • Monitor equipment and vehicle service trends and work to enforce maintenance schedules
  • Accepting and inventorying inbound deliveries from several vendors
  • Accurately fulfilling/staging of outbound material packages for the installation teams and delivering materials to job sites on an as needed basis
  • Checking deliveries for accuracy/damage, facilitating the return of damaged materials, and reconciling any shortages or damages
  • Maintaining inventory levels of all in stock materials; inventory control and management
  • Review organizational inventory on a regular basis and conduct audits on inventory counts as required
  • Assist facilities and real estate management with special projects as needed
  • Work with facility contacts across the organizational footprint in successfully overcoming local challenges
  • Follow safety procedures for the handling of tools, hazardous materials, and diesel fuel
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities of this job classification

What you’ll need:

General

  • Requires excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Desired

  • Construction and Equipment yard maintenance or 2 years of equivalent experience required
  • Expertise in diesel engine repair, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
  • Advanced diagnostic skills with engines and electrical components.
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools, computerized equipment, and manual repair techniques
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system repair knowledge.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and knowledge of electrical and telecom materials preferred

Job Type: Full-Time – Salary (Exempt)

Your Working Environment:

  • Work may be performed in a garage, workshop, or outdoor environment, requiring lifting heavy equipment and working in varying weather conditions.
  • May be required to work overtime or weekends depending on business needs.
  • Regular exposure to noise, chemicals, fumes, and other hazardous materials, requiring the use of safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, and ear protection.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy parts and tools, often up to 50 pounds or more
  • Standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods of time
  • This position will require a combination of office and maintenance duties
