Plant Manager

Primary Duties

• Accept and embrace full P & L Responsibility
• Operate the business as if it were your own, but within established corporate parameters
• Manage and control all operating costs, including labor, maintenance and repairs, utilities etc. Be tenacious in understanding and managing every expense.
• Ability to build both rapport and respect with the employees, which will drive improved performance
• Meet and exceed assigned production and financial goals. Never accept the status quo, evaluate new processes to achieve business goals.
• Maintain and build upon the facilities established health and safety culture
• Manage all maintenance activities for the plant, vehicles and equipment
• Maintain an effective Preventive Maintenance Program
• Maximize use of in-house resources to complete repairs where possible
• Maintain the facility to Smurfit Westrock standards
• Must excel in a fast paced, multi-directional environment
• Keep detailed and accurate records of the plants many daily functions
• Ability to negotiate pricing and assess the quality of work done by established and new vendors, while ensuring their health and safety
• Possess strong customer service skills, and demonstrate to our customer base "Value beyond Price"
• Flexibility and willingness to take on other projects and duties as necessary
• Visit the work area frequently to ensure compliance, and discusses safety issues with team. Explains to team that safety excellence is expected and is a requirement of employment. Encourages the team to report incidents, near-misses and unsafe conditions. SWNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.
