Job Description
To assist customers leaving the visitor garages by operating the fee computer gates and other hardware while processing payments of cash, checks, validations, and credits cards. The give out campus information and directions to the guests, patients, and the public. To assist the customer service manager in the performance of his/her tasks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Some knowledge of principles and processes for providing effective customer services and providing information.
- Some knowledge of payment handling procedures and the use of related equipment.
- Some knowledge of procedures for calculating parking charges, collecting fees from customers, and responding to customer inquiries.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively interact with the public and promote a positive image of the University.
Level and Type of Experience
- Some customer service experience.
- Some experience working as a cashier to include receiving and accounting for money, balancing a cash drawer, and reconciling reports. Some experience working at a customer service desk and providing information to customers.
Additional Considerations
- Ability to work alternative shifts (day/night/weekend).
Conditions of Employment
Applicant must be willing to work alternate shifts including days, evenings, weekdays, and weekends. This is an open until filled recruitment. This recruitment may close after the five-day required posting period when a suitable pool of applicants has been generated.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
Salary commensurate with education and experience
