As a GQ Ops Technician, you will contribute to cycle time reduction and data quality by facilitating product movement, supporting advanced level training needs, and supporting engineering tasks. You will be a leader and technical resource with responsibilities that cross between the production and engineering teams.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Utilize production reports to review workstation performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify and take action on product that is released to run but is impeded (program not released, handler/tester set-up, job will not load, etc.).
  • Mentor and certify Manufacturing Technicians (TA’s) on advanced skills.
  • Create new procedures to support TA training.
  • Help integrate new tasks, tools or process changes into the area.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the area, such as, suggestions, and team/project efforts.
  • Troubleshoot holds. Complex engineering request/increasing throughput through decision making/considered an area expert, i.e., 100% certified on area tools and processes.

Workstation Efficiency:

  • Achieve daily area operations to ensure tactical efficiency needs are met.
  • Perform strategic workstation duties to identify and address issues limiting productivity.
  • Quickly respond to lot management issues such as holds, lockups, terminations, missing data, or tracking issues. Address any meaningful customer concerns or issues by promptly advising the relevant teams using appropriate methods.
  • Identify capacity issues and modify temperature conversions/equipment group holds, equipment group modification.
  • Submit remedy cases, own issue until all clear.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to coach fellow team members.
  • Collaborate with Equipment Support (ES), Engineering, to drive improvements in equipment setup, equipment productive time, job releases, PER accuracy, tracking and data transfer.
  • Has basic knowledge of unix as it applies to the systems.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the Oven Console and ability to troubleshoot/recover ovens using the VNC.
  • Complete initial Failure analysis before handing off to PFA group for additional analysis.
  • Entrusted restart locked up ovens.

WIP Management:

  • Ability to build MAM Inventory reports.
  • Evaluate and prioritize tasks, resolving them as possible and intensifying efforts when required.
  • Provide support for the optimization of area scheduling tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to monitor status of key bottlenecks.
  • Ability to assist Equipment support with PM’s, Kit Changes.
  • Entrusted to run Mega Sort.
  • Perform Equipment inventory audit and update hardware page.

Quality and Safety:

  • Perform 6S audits and safety walkthroughs.
  • Support human Quality Deviations with follow-up identifying training opportunities or procedure gaps.
  • Provide support and back-up to the supervisor for safety and mustering coordinator duties.
  • Mentor TA – conduct individual and group training sessions where necessary.
  • Discover opportunities by using examples to mentor area TA in order to address operational inefficiencies proactively.
  • Work with the supervisor to support and develop new training.

Requirements:

  • Two-year industry related associate degree; working towards a STEM related degree; or equivalent military training and experience.
