Reports To: Director of Millwork Sales

Job Summary

Leading Multi-Family supplier of Millwork, Builders Hardware and Access control is seeking an experienced Millwork Detailer. The individual will be a self-motivated person with a positive attitude to join our team. They will be responsible for complete and accurate detailing of contracted projects and reviewing of take-offs from plans and specs. Experience in Millwork, Hardware or other Building materials will be a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.

Essential Functions

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch
  • Frequently required to sit, bend, reach, and type
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to multi-task and focus on many duties and report issues to direct supervisor for resolution.

Job Functions

  • Reviews original estimates for any changes/ misses, provide updated take-off based on architectural drawings, landscape drawings, and specifications. Typical items include residential door hardware, commercial door hardware & accessories, bath accessories, fire extinguishers, mirrors, wire shelving, mailboxes, exterior doors, interior doors, and Hollow Metal Openings.
  • Verify wall thickness & break outdoor/ hardware handing based on construction drawings.
  • Create project submittals to send to customers for review and approval.
  • Determine Keying Instructions for large multifamily projects.
  • Create Door Rough Opening sheets based off most current Construction Sets of plans/ change orders.
  • Review returned submittals and take any action required, i.e.: Product changes, Change order requests, NC Changes.
  • Add assembly and product codes to production template and requests any new codes required.
  • Help facilitate resolution to any issues or problems that come up by working with Sales and PM's.
  • Misc. duties as needed

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job
  • Ability to read, interpret, & understand architectural drawings, landscape drawings, Interior Design drawings, and specifications and provide detailed shipping and production files.
  • Experience using electronic estimating tools, including estimating software, on-screen take-off tools and Excel spread sheets
  • Ability to use intermediate math calculations such as percentages and conversion ratios
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required
  • Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize workload and work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to communicate effectively & conduct themselves professionally; excellent written & verbal communication skills

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • Should have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience running medium to large sized jobs in industry
  • Background in Finish Carpentry and/ or Hardware Installation a plus
