Here at sweetgreen’s Automation Team we’re at the forefront of restaurant automation. Our meal assembly automation - the Infinite Kitchen - operates daily at several of our sweetgreen locations across the country, but we are just getting started.

As we expand our footprint of Infinite Kitchens, we are seeking a Project Manager, Automation to support the deployment and maintenance of our Infinite Kitchens across the country.

This is an ideal role for someone with experience managing automation related projects with a background in engineering or project / program management.

This is a full time role based in Boston with up to 25% travel to our deployment sites and up to 50% travel during onboarding.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience managing automation or robotics deployment projects with a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and 5+ years of experience working in the automation or robotics field
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments and are skilled at juggling multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders.
  • An excellent communicator, capable of collaborating closely with internal teams and third parties to ensure successful outcomes. Highly capable of building great relationships with your teams.
  • Highly adept with project management tools (eg. Jira) and techniques
  • You take pride in tracking details meticulously, and creating excellent documentation, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, and continuously optimizing processes.
  • Highly knowledgeable about industrial automation systems and their deployment in commercial environments
  • Capable of working under pressure and flexible to travel to the deployment sites to support when needed
  • You bring a continuous improvement mindset, always seeking ways to refine processes and achieve better outcomes.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field

What You’ll Do

  • Support the deployments of Infinite Kitchens across the country, frequently project managing multiple deployments at a time
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for each deployment, coordinating between internal teams and external vendors
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking timelines, milestones and deliverables for each site deployment
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks or roadblocks, ensuring smooth project execution
  • Track and manage ongoing maintenance for deployed Infinite Kitchens, including creating and updating tickets, coordinating work and tracking progress
  • Build and improve our project management and tracking systems for our deployments and maintenance
  • Continuously improve deployment and maintenance processes and documentation to improve efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate closely with our deployment and maintenance teams on long term improvement initiatives
  • Act as the main point of contact for sweetgreen’s facilities team, helping coordinate and manage third party maintenance of commodity equipment (refrigeration, plumbing etc)
  • Act as the main point of contact for our spare parts distributor, ensuring restaurants have rapid access to spares. Manage our in-house emergency spares program.

Salary Range For This Role

Starting salary range based on experience

$100,000—$130,000 USD
