- May 2025- August 2025 intern/co-op within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends.

As a Software Engineer at MKS, you will partner with the software development team to design, develop and test laser profiling systems. In this role, you will report to Brad Christensen, Mgr, Software Development.
You Will Make An Impact By
- Participating in design and planning meetings
- Creating innovative solutions to solve customer\industry needs
- Developing working code for various measurement tools
- Testing and verifying new and existing features
- Supporting resolution of customer found bugs/issues
- Being part of an exciting team environment
Required Skills
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer Science or relevant majors
- Basic understanding of code development (C# preferred)
- Understanding of data structures and Object Oriented Design/Development
- Algorithm development
- Above average math skills
- Basic laser concepts and understanding
- Image processing
- Coding and structure for optimization
- Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
- Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
- The ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
- Operates in a professional office environment
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Noise level in the work environment is usually average
